Institutional Vision

Professional Institute AIEP’s Vision is being one of the best academic options for technical and professional education in the country, and therefore being available for all young people and adults who desire to improve their lives by obtaining a Higher Education degree.

Institutional Mission

Professional Institute AIEP’s Mission is educating technicians and professionals that are capable of becoming an efficient part in the labor market, being an active addition to the country’s development in different disciplines and geographical regions.

Professional Institute AIEP educates young people and adults whose main objective is to progress through education. The educational model responds to the needs the labor market has, providing concrete and practical tools to help with the professional performance of its graduates.

This is supported by its three basic pillars:

- Academic Quality, and Competency-based Training
- Academic Model Innovation
- Technical and Professional Education Articulation; and Education Continuity

Spirit of Self-Improvement:

AIEP provides equal opportunities and promotes self-improvement, and human and professional potential development among its students by means of education. All this is achieved respecting the dignity of every human being, and with social and civil responsibility.

Service Orientation:

AIEP understands satisfying the needs of the people as an internal issue as well as a social responsibility towards the community it is part of, in the context of an ethical vocation in all the tasks they undertake.

Sense of Belonging:

AIEP promotes among all members of its community the development of a sense of identity and adhesion and a commitment with the institutional ideas, highlighting the dignity and integrity of the people involved.

Quality Orientation:

AIEP promotes, as part of the continuity of students, professors and administrative officers, an orientation to a job well done, in accordance with standards and specifications defined focusing on continuous improvement.

Institutional Accreditation is a voluntary process that certifies whether a higher education institution complies with its projects, assuring as well the existence, application and results of efficacious self-regulation and quality assurance mechanisms. This is to say, that the institution has goals, plans oriented towards these goals and mechanisms ensuring their quality. It is, therefore, a consistency judgment.

The objective of this process is to continuously improve each institution through the definition of their policies and quality assurance mechanisms; the implementation of an evaluation and control culture; and the incorporation of good practices in institutional management and teaching.

The National Commission of Accreditation has granted AIEP an institutional accreditation for the areas of Institutional Management and Teaching Leading Up to an Academic Degree, from October 2010 to October 2014.

Since its foundation, AIEP has maintained a clear and fruitful international commitment, proven by its academic agreements with Higher Education Institutions abroad.

Chile is a long and narrow strip of land, located between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean in southwestern South America. The country’s latitude ranges from 17° 30' south in Altiplano to 56° 30' south in continental Chile, and 90° south in the Chilean Antarctic Territory.

Chile has many special geographical features: it has territories in Polynesia: Easter Island, located 3,700 km off Chilean continental coasts (Insular Chile); in Antarctica (Antarctic Chile, 1,250,00 km2) and in South America (Continental and Insular Chile, 756,096 km2).

Continental and Insular Chile’s area is almost twice as big as Germany’s, distributed in a 4,200 km long strip of land, 90 km wide at its narrowest point and 440 km at its widest, breaking down into hundreds of islands and fjords in its southernmost area.

The capital and principal urban center by population and jobs is Santiago (6,061,185 inhabitants according to the 2002 census). Located at parallel 33º south, at a similar latitude as Buenos Aires and Montevideo, Santiago is the major political, economic, cultural and industrial center of the country. With its 6 million inhabitants, Santiago is Chile’s entrance doorway and one of the most modern capital cities in the continent.
